Before stepping into the Dandiya festivities, I had enjoyed a very peaceful, rich, and inner-pleasing concert, and even though I had often wondered why I should go for Dandiya now, my friends still remembered our program as a bit of fun and a nice memory of the year.

When I went there, I was literally amazed by the grandeur of the place. This year, our (small town) Dandiya was very big. Around 1000 people gathered to celebrate this festival.

First, I did the routine work of taking photos with my friends, and then my favorite thing.. watching the crowd!

There is a different kind of fun in watching people, their clothes, and their expressions than playing Dandiya in such a crowd, I enjoy it a lot myself..

Colorful attire: Some wore traditional chaniya-cholis, while others wore designer kurtas. The glass embroidery and the hem of the skirts seemed to be a riot of colors as they moved in the light of the lamps. Appreciating jewelry of women and watching it glow was another treat for the eyes.

The fun of gestures: Watching the expressions on people's faces while playing the dandiya was the biggest entertainment. The joy that comes when you step on the right foot to the beat, the laughter that comes when the dandiyas accidentally hit each other, and the concentration that comes on the faces when the speed of the song increases... Seeing all this, my heart was lost. Gujaratis who are pro at this art and gorgeous men and women who are skilled and graceful in dancing are a feast for the eyes... I love watching them dance, especially the Garba...

A huge thank you to my friends, their husbands and many volunteers for organizing such a large-scale event and making it a success! They selflessly spread joy by giving their time, effort and enthusiasm... Thank you very much!
