11 am to 12.30 pm

Is Business Ownership an option for you?

Suzanne Gray is a franchise coach and has been helping people explore and research franchises for over 15 years.   For the past seven years, she and her husband have been franchisees with Mosquito Squad. In this session she will cover:

·         Why business ownership? What motivates you? Who should try it?  Factors which one needs to consider.

·         When should one think of business ownership? What types of backgrounds work best for franchises?  Does age make a difference?

·         Mindset of successful entrepreneurs

·         What kinds of ownership are available? Business models come in various shapes and sizes.  Which one is right for you?  Full time, part time, semi absentee and absentee ownership. What are the choices and tradeoffs - in capital? in time commitment? Investment levels.  Examples of yellow or red flags that you may find when researching franchises.

Peter Berson has been a WSI franchisee for nearly three years.  Peter previously worked as a Senior Sales Engineer at several different high-tech start-ups in the Boston area.  Now, as a small business owner with WSI he helps High-Tech companies bring their solutions to the market by measurably growing their business using the power of Digital Marketing. Peter will share his journey from “corporate startup guy” to a franchisee, what he learned along the way, why he chose WSI, and a day in the life.  He will share why he chose to invest in a franchise vs. start up the business on his own.

Renuka Garg has been the owner and director of a Kumon franchise in Marlborough for over 16 years. Over the years, she has tutored numerous students helping them achieve academic success. She will share her experience and the practical realities of owning and operating a franchise.
