The second annual ISW
christmas 2007 was celebrated with packed audience with no standing room at
the India center in Shrewsbury on Dec 8th, 2007. Indians from
different states & backgrounds - ladies dressed in colorful Indian sarees &
men in formal attire gathered at India center for an evening of songs, live
music, skits and drama to celebrate Christmas in the Indian way - in a very
cordial and relaxed atmosphere.

With standing room only attendance, lead by Mrs Pushpa Joshi, second of the
two Diwali Programs - a Diwali Puja with family and friends was celebrated
and performed at India Center on Nov 3rd. Celebrations began with lighting
of Diyas, followed by Puja by all which was followed by a delicious pot luck

Vibrant people
,
Vibrant Music, and Vibrant decor filled the halls of Marlboro Middle school
on Oct 13 2007 when ISW celebrated it's Annual Navratri Garbha event.
It was a mixed crowd of young and old that danced to the up beat tempo
of
Grabha and Dandyia beat sung by our very own "Jankaar" group. With
approximately 250 people the show did not stop at 11:00 as planned.

ISW participated, for the first time, in Spirit of
Shrewsbury Fall Festival. ISW had a booth on Saturday Sept 29th along with a
Free Health Stop manned by Volunteer-Physicians. On Sunday Sept 30th ISW
participated in the Parade with a beautifully decorated Float. On the float
were IYG members dressed as traditional Indian Bride and Groom. A group of
youngsters did Bhangra dance following the float. Many ISW members

Continuing the monthly series, ISW held a seminar on Friday August 24th on "Planning
for College - It is never too early to start Planning for College" - at
India Center. Seminar was attended by parents as well as high-school
juniors and seniors with the largest attendance for the seminar series to
date. Thanks to the panelists, which included ex-IYG vice president Esha
Bawa. Esha was able to provide a students perspective to prospective college
applicants.

Annual India Day festival celebrated India's 60th Independence on August
19th, 2007 through a unique cultural program - Discovery of India through 60
years
of Dance and Music. With a record number of people participating this
year, India Day included FREE medical screening for all, a children's room
hosted by ISW Youth Group (IYG), an Indian Bazaar along with delicious
Indian Food of various kind.

ISW launched a new monthly seminar series on July 27th at India Center.
Monthly seminar series, held on 4th friday of every month will initially
focus on four major tracks -
Finance, Health, Society &
Culture and Family related issues.
This
months seminar on
“Protecting yourself & your children
online” was organized as a
panel of experts from the Law Enforcement and IT fields, and moderated by
Raj Melville. Attendees benefited from the experience of the speakers Ellen
Miller and Adam Winter.
Ellen
Miller, District Attorney Joseph Early Jr.'s Office, Community and
School Programs unit, has been providing training for police, teachers,
students and communities throughout the Middle District on topics such as
Internet Safety, Date Rape and Designer Drugs, the Criminal and Juvenile
Justice Systems, and Mock Trial presentations

Swiftec IT, Inc, a 20 year veteran in the field of Information
technology has been providing outsourced IT services to businesses in the
MetroWest Area

ISW annual Picnic was held on Sunday July 15th at
Northborough
McAfee Park and attended by adults and children with plenty of fun and
food for all. Children and adults played games, while some just enjoyed
being able to reconnect with their friends.... some others new to ISW met

June 2007 Satsang was dedicated to Oxford Sarvadev temple. Bhajans
were followed by Aartil and Prasad.

ISW hosted a spirited information session at
India Center
on town of Shrewsbury's upcoming proposition 2-2/12 override on May 1st. The
session started with a short presentations by Judy Vedder & Ms Johanna
Musselman representing the Yes4Shrewbury committee and by Mr. Christopher
Kirk & Dr. Charles Garabedian representing Committee against Proposition
2-1/2. After the presentation the panel took questions. Session lasted
longer than expected and went beyond the allotted time.

IYG Showcase India 2007 broke previous records with
over
700 people attending the show at Westborough High School. Children of
all ages as well as adults danced to Bollywood music and classical dance

Saraswati Puja is
performed
by ISW Cultural School students. This year was no exception. On
Sunday, March 11, 2007, the India Society of Worcester Language and Cultural
School sponsored their annual Sarasvati Puja. As the image of Goddess
Sarasvati looked gently down on them, the students slowly passed before her
and placed their school workbooks at her feet.

Center on Feb 11, 2007. Puja was lead by Mrs Pushpa Joshi and the audience
was treated with bhajans and devotional songs by Indian Classical Vocalist
Mr Ramchandra Joshi of Marlborough, MA. Ramchandra was accompanies by Mahesh
